Summary

The Indians would be cursing themselves to have let the Kiwis off the hook by dropping a few catches. Mahendra Singh Dhoni started off with it, there were a few hiccups on the field and then the shorter boundaries had equal side-effects. The Indians made use of it, the Kiwis weren't too far behind as well.

The Indians would be relieved more than being delighted. The Indians were tagged the winners at the innings break but it's the game of cricket, a game full of glorious uncertainties. The openers milked the Indian bowling and the visitors seemed to have no answers to that. Ryder's mistake of calling McCullum for a suicidal single proved too costly, wickets tumbled and fell in a heap. But then spare a thought for the late order heroics too, Mills and Southee almost turned the game on it's head but then chasing a target close to 400 doesn't happen always. Every day is just not a Sunday, although today was but not for chasing this total atleast.
